A conversation was held by our academician from Şabanözü Vocational School with the staff of Çankırı Forestry Management Directorate on the transition to holistic fire governance within the scope of social contribution.

      On February 21, 2025, a productive interview was held by one of our faculty members at Şabanözü Vocational School, Fire Ecologist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Ürker, for the Çankırı Forestry Management Directorate personnel on why and how our current fire management policy can be transformed in the face of the climate crisis. Within the scope of this interview, the fire management histories and approaches of the USA and Turkey were compared and concrete ideas were exchanged on how our country could quickly transition to the ‘fuel load management (combustible material reduction)’ phase as the first transition step of “Holistic Fire Governance” in the face of the current climate crisis.
