As part of Community Service activities, an educational seminar titled "Controlled Drug Delivery Systems" was delivered to 5th–8th grade students of Çankırı High School by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru KILIÇAY, a faculty member of the Medical Services and Techniques Department, Medical Laboratory Techniques Program at Şabanözü Vocational School of Health Services.

For many years, the primary goal of pharmaceutical research has been to develop new molecules capable of treating various diseases. However, the lengthy duration of these studies, their economic burden, and their failure to always produce the desired outcomes have led researchers to seek alternative approaches. These alternatives aim not only to treat the patient but also to improve their quality of life. Efforts such as reducing drug dosage, extending dosing intervals, minimizing side and harmful effects, and even directing the drug to the target site are all aimed at this goal. Controlled release systems are the most effective solutions that meet these expectations.
