Çankırı Karatekin University Şabanözü Vocational School hosted a meaningful event that combined environmental awareness with professional development. The "Career Meeting," organized on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan ÜRKER, faculty member of the Environmental Health and Environmental Risk Management Technician Program, brought together students and industry representatives.
İbrahim GÖRÜNME, President of the Environmental Health Professionals Education and Solidarity Association, and his accompanying delegation attended the event and shared comprehensive information on current practices in the field of environmental health, professional ethics, problems encountered in the field, and employment opportunities.
The key role of environmental health technicians in public health was emphasized in the speeches, while also addressing current issues such as climate change, waste management, water quality, public health risks, and post-disaster environmental recovery processes. Participants shared their field experiences with the students and offered concrete examples of career opportunities in the public and private sectors.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan ÜRKER emphasized the importance of equipping students not only with technical knowledge but also with environmental ethics and sustainability awareness, saying, "Environmental health is no longer just a profession; it is the guarantee of a livable future."
At the end of the meeting, students met one-on-one with the guests and asked them questions about their career plans. The event attracted considerable attention as a platform for raising awareness and strengthening professional solidarity in the field of environmental health.
